PhotoBrasive was created by IKONICS Corporation (formerly The Chromaline Corporation), an innovative leader in photo stencil technology. The company was established in 1952, originating as a printer of precision graphics. Chromaline later began developing and manufacturing unique photo stencil products for the screen-printing industry. In 1985 the company introduced SBX, a photo-imageable emulsion designed to serve as a high quality resist for abrasive etching. By offering exceptional image detail, SBX revolutionized the sandcarving industry. IKONICS embraced the opportunity and developed ImagePro® Photo Resist Film, a faster and easier high resolution sandblast stencil method. On that occasion in 1992, IKONICS founded PhotoBrasive to better serve the sandcarving industry. Accredited with over 50 years of photo emulsion manufacturing and film coating experience, IKONICS Corporation is committed to developing environmentally safe, high quality, photochemical imaging products.
